The classrooms are organized to promote friendship and safety.

Hillcrest Elementary School provides a strong foundation for students in all academic areas. As is true of all levels at Hillcrest School, the elementary curriculum is based on American Education Reaches Out (AERO) standards. Click here to read more about AERO standards.

Throughout the elementary school, JUMP Math’s textbooks are utilized in math instruction. Impact Social Studies and Inspire Science texts from McGraw Hill are available as resources for social studies and science instruction. Bible textbooks for the elementary school are published by Purposeful Design Publications.

The lower elementary school’s systematic and explicit instruction in phonemic awareness, phonics, spelling, reading, handwriting, and grammar are supported by resources from Logic of English.  English language arts resources for upper elementary include grammar and writing textbooks from Bob Jones University Press, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt’s Journeys anthologies, SRA Spelling, and a variety of age-appropriate novels.

All elementary students participate in Indonesian language classes and physical education. Music, art, and computer instruction is provided when teachers are available.
