By serving at Hillcrest, you will be helping families reach the 275 people groups of Papua, as well as families from other parts of Indonesia. Parents of our students are involved in translation, leadership and spiritual development, aviation, and education for the people of this easternmost province of Indonesia. Hillcrest is an international community with families from nine countries.

The Director is responsible for the overall operation of Hillcrest School and the two hostels in accordance with the policies adopted by the Board of Hillcrest.
Qualifications for Director of Hillcrest School:
- Evangelical Christian in agreement with HIS Statement of Faith
- Masters in Education (or in process)
- Leadership experience in an educational setting (at least 5 years experience in education and prefer at least 2 years experience in Leadership/Administration)
- Age 60 or below
- Advanced English proficiency
- Willingness to learn Indonesian
- Heart for missions, overseas experience preferred
- Self-supporting: willingness to raise financial support (Will come through an evangelical mission agency. School can help with this.)
- Long-term commitment (4 years+)
Teach various high school math classes in a mission school setting.
Classes could include Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry & Pre-Calculus.
Build our drama program for middle school and high school. Middle school drama classes would meet one or two times per week. High school classes meet daily. Can be combined with another part-time position.
Support the mental health needs of students and staff through counseling and teaching social-emotional skills from a biblical perspective.
Serve families in the mountain town of Wamena by teaching at our 2-classroom satellite school. Classes are small with two to three grades per classroom.
Teach one grade or, rarely, two in the the basic subjects of Bible, math, language arts, science, and social studies from a biblical perspective.
Develop the visual artistic skills of students in grades pre-1st through 12th. Elementary and middle school art classes meet once or twice per week. High school classes meet daily. Could be combined with another part-time position.
Build our information technology education program as you teach grades 1 through 12 basic computer skills, including coding. Elementary and middle school computer classes meet one or two times per week. High school classes meet daily. Can be combined with another part-time position.
Build our choral vocal music program for grades pre-1st through 12th. Elementary and middle school music classes meet two times per week. High school classes meet daily. Could be combined with another part-time position.
Support teachers in providing the most appropriate education for students with learning challenges, including educational support plans. This position may include pull-outs for individual students or small groups.
Serve Hillcrest students and staff by caring for minor injuries or illnesses and referring students to doctors as needed. Teaching high school health classes may be included in this role.
Assist high school students in planning their academic program. Coordinate the school’s standardized testing program.
Support teachers in providing the most appropriate education for students whose native language is not English. This position may include pull-outs for individual students or small groups.
Lead a team of local accounting professionals in maintaining accurate financial records. Your team of professionals are fluent English speakers. Assist the director in budget planning.
Lead a team of experienced local IT staff in developing and maintaining our IT infrastructure to ensure that the technological needs of teachers and students can be met as well as possible. You will also work with the IT team to maintain our website and keep it current.
Teach high school and/or middle school social studies from a biblical perspective. Courses may include US history, world geography, ancient world history and geography, psychology, and a variety of AP social studies courses, such as comparative governments and European History.
The school librarian position manages the library’s collection of more than 29,000 items, along with its resources, and acquisitions, while teaching once weekly classes for grades Pre1-5 to promote literacy and research skills. They also run weekly library programming for middle school students and facilitate daily study halls for high schoolers, supporting academic success and fostering a love of reading. Additionally, they will collaborate with an Indonesian librarian technician and other teachers to enhance curriculum-based learning.
